Welton bag company was formed to manufacture paper bags
The Paper Division was manufacturing retail carrier bags for the UK chains. There was also a thriving export business to retailers in Europe.
The company diversified into Medical Packaging.
The Medical Division started manufacturing sterilisation paper bags for the NHS in 1968 and had a modest export business in Europe and the Middle East.
The Welton Medical Division moved to the current Westfield site
Welton Medical was a founder member of the SBA in 1992. The SBA is the European Trade Association for companies who provide sterile barrier systems, associated equipment and accessories
Company acquired by the management and re-named Westfield Medical following MBO from the Bowater Group
RH Lowe plc acquire Westfield Medical
RH Lowe plc sell Westfield Medical to Jourdan plc
Supplying the NHS and hospitals in over 70 countries worldwide in an expanding Distributor network. Also servicing the UK and European medical device manufacturers.
Westfield acquire Clinipak to broaden the product offering to the NHS.

Westfield Medical embark on a major investment programme
New sheeter acquired and commissioned, capacity increased, and new pouch machine acquired.
Primary supplier to the NHS also exporting to 90 countries.
Final phase of cleanroom completed with successful validation to ISO Class 8. Further investment including a new IT system with ERP ‘going live’ and machine upgrades across the facility.
